Effective Sept 16, 2022, Salida Ag has joined IAP as the newest owner company. Salida Ag is a full-service chemical and fertilizer retailer that extends throughout theCentral Valley of California.
Salida Ag was founded in the early 1970’s by Art Bowman and Dave Rumble. They were fresh out of college and saw an opportunity to start an Ag chemical dealership focused on IPM practices in the Salida area of California. Together they began to build the business, initially making deliveries to their clients from the trunks of their personal cars. Today the business has focused on a full-service business model and forming strong client relationships.
It is now owned and managed by the second generation, Clinton Bowman and Robert Rumble, and has grown to currently have ten licensed PCA’s on staff and thirty total employees.
Salida Ag prides itself on its stance as an independent retailer, which gives our PCA’s the freedom to provide personalized recommendations for fertility, pest control, and all other aspects of crop protection as well as providing nutrient management plans, soil and leaf lab analysis, bug trapping, and water quality assessments for our customers. Currently nut crops make up the vast majority of acreage served, but other crops such as stone fruit, cherries, grapes, corn, and forage are important crops as well.
Salida Ag seeks to distinguish itself by providing a high level of customer service and to care for each block individually and bring value and advice that profits clients. Salida Ag prides itself on a long history of meeting and exceeding the agronomic needs of its growers and as Salida Ag continues to look for ways to bring more value to its clients IAP will be a valued partner that will help bring value to the local growers.
